When is the wedding?
- We’re getting married on October 5 at 11:00 AM. We’ll have a brief ceremony, with a brunch and board games reception immediately after (yay, waffles!). (Almost nobody played board games; oh, well!)
Where is it?
- We’re having both our ceremony and reception in the Tea Room at Gambrill State Park, which is located in Frederick, MD. Directions and pictures can be found on our Venue and Directions page. Frederick is about an hour north of Washington DC. More info about lodging on our Where to Stay page.
What should I wear?
- We want you to be comfortable. This will be a very simple wedding at a state park, so more casual, comfortable clothes are just fine. There several pretty trails near the Tea Room, so you may want to prepare for an impromptu nature walk, if that’s your thing. The weather may be chilly (although the reception will be indoors), so layers would make sense. (It was not at all chilly. In fact, it was way too hot for most!)
Parking?
- There is plenty of parking at the Tea Room. We are covering the cost to enter and park ($3), so don’t pay twice! (We talked to the rangers the day before to give them a lump sum. They seemed surprised that we were so honest! We left a sign at the pay box so people would know not to pay)
